Skytrax had announced its 2016 rankings for World Best Airlines. This is a yearly survey is based on 19.2 million travelers from 104 different countries, covering more than 280 airlines. It measures 41 different parameters ranging from boarding procedures, seat comfort, the quality of service, etc. Business travelers will be keen to find out if their favorite airline is one of the world best airlines top on the list. It is also a good reference for other business travelers as they choose to fly with one of the world best airlines, enjoying great comfort experience on air.
World Best Airlines #1: Emirates (“EK”)
Emirates had emerged as the World Best Airlines for 2016. The airline started in 1985 with only two aircrafts. Now, Emirates has its premier long-haul carriers, operating from its hub at Dubai International Airport. It has the world’s largest fleet of Airbus A380 and Boeing 777 wide-body jets. The fleet is well equipped with the state-of-the-art in-flight entertainment system (“Ice”) offering a wide selection of videos and music options on demand. It even allows live television and sporting events on its entertainment system. Emirates has also clinched Skytrax’s award for Best In-Flight Entertainment 12 years in the running.
World Best Airlines #2: Qatar Airways (“QR”)
Taking the 2nd position for World Best Airlines award is Qatar Airways. The Doha-based airline flies to more than 140 destinations worldwide, bridging the Asia and the Europe/America continent. It has received positive reviews for its seat comfort and in-flight entertainment. The airline also offers their Economy class travelers smartphone and tablet connectivity to their personal screens as part of the entertainment suite. Apart from being one of the World Best Airlines, Qatar also bagged the World’s Best Business Class, Best Business Class Airline Lounge and Best Airline Staff in the Middle East Awards.
World Best Airlines #3: Singapore Airlines (“SQ”)
Singapore Airlines is named the 3rd World Best Airlines for 2016. It is also named the Best Airline in Asia and Best Business Class Airline Seat. Singapore Airlines attribute its success to the Singapore Girl branding. It is is an internationally recognized and respected icon remembered by many for their high standards of care and quality service on air. Today, regardless of travel class, Singapore Airlines continue to serve its travelers with a hot towel before take-off. Singapore Airlines also flies with one of the youngest fleet to destinations and network spanning across six continents. The airline is based at Changi International Airport, which is also one of the world’s best. It has been named by Skytrax as the Best International Airport in the World four years in a row.
World Best Airlines #4: Cathay Pacific Airways (“CX”)
Cathay Pacific Airways clinched the 4th spot in this year’s World Best Airlines award. Business travelers will also be pleased to learn that Cathay Pacific Airways scored well in seat comfort, service quality and in-flight entertainment. The airline had a fleet of long-range Boeing 777-300ER jets, offering travelers direct access from Hong Kong to the America continent. Aside from being one of the World Best Airlines, Cathay Pacific also won the World’s Best Cabin Cleanliness and Best First Class Airline Lounge awards.
World Best Airlines #5: All Nippon Airways (“NH”)
All Nippon Airways (ANA) have moved up its rank to be the top 5 World Best Airlines. Previously it was ranked the 7th position. It is the largest carrier in Japan and is home to largest fleet of Boeing 787 Dreamliners. ANA had scored extremely well for its service, cleanliness and safety. The airline provides a Japanese and Western fusion experience on board with different cultures of food choices for selection. ANA had also won the World’s Best Airport Service and Best airline Staff Service in Asia award.
